Woah I just noctis notice I posted my last post on Friday the 13th D: I hope Freddy read this post so he will adopt a pet someday.
Okay I was talking nonsense- Please ignore it-
Back to the real topic. Today I'll talk about animal adoption in Japan. I feel happy for them, because they can avoid that cruel fate (read: Stray Animals in Japan) and a fur-ever home....you got it right?
Japan also have many animal rescue (I guess every country have many of them). I'll list some of them for you. Who know maybe you live in Japan or going to live there in the future and planned to have pets. Well, then here they are:
Okay, there you go. I have some of them for you. Say thanks to me.
Ehem. Back to topic again. There are a few steps to follow in order to adopt a pet. First, you need to complete the online adoption questionnaire. After that they will contact you through email or phone and you need to send the the picture or documentation of your house and neighbor to prove them that your environment is pet friendly.
Second, after they accept your application, you need to pay the adoption fee. How much is depends on each shelter. For example, the Arkbark charge you ¥15,000 for each pet. Those fee covers for:
- Vaccination
- Blood test
- Spaying / Neutering
- Micro-chipping
Third, you need to pay the transport fee. This depends on where you live and where the shelter is located.
According to my friend, to adopt a pet in Japan is kind of hard for foreigner. Even if you're already live there for few years. I can't blame the shelter, because they just want to give the best for their animals and maybe they thought that foreigner will likely to travel overseas quite a lot and their pets would be abandoned (again).
I guess that's it for now. If you have any experience about adopting an animal, kindly share it on the comment section. Thank you! :)
Once more, ADOPT, DON'T BUY! See you! :D
